About Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga is a form of yoga that incorporates an Aerial Hammock.

Just like any prop the hammock is used throughout the sequence for different purposes. The hammock can be used to find more support and balance, additional inversions, new movement modalities, deeper stretches and a host of other benefits.

Gravity & spinal health

By performing various inversions in the hammock it allows you to take the pressure off of your joints whilst still reaping the benefits of otherwise tricky inversions. This means we are allowing gravity to decompress the spine, increasing cognitive brain function, stimulating the lymphatic drainage system and aiding in digestion, all without balancing on our heads and hands.

Floating savasana

A typical savasana is found lying supine on the mat. Our savasana is practiced supine inside the hammock.  We will drift into a state of rest and relaxation cradled by the hammock as we float above the floor feeling weightless.
